Privacy Policy
Mock Draft Nation is a place to make NFL Draft predictions and keep a dated record of them. This page explains what we collect to do that, what other people can see, and what happens if you want to leave.
The short version
- No ads, no ad trackers, no gambling, and we never sell your data.
- We keep your email so you can sign in, and the mocks, boards, calls and lists you make.
- Anything you publish is public and locked with its date. Drafts stay private.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time. Published records stay on the site, but with your name taken off them.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, the username and display name you choose, and your password. The password is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider. We never see it.
What you make. Mock drafts, big board rankings, predictions about players' careers, lists, the groups you create or join, and your answers to friends' list challenges. That includes any name you type when you answer a challenge.
What stays in your browser. Your work in progress and settings like light or dark mode are saved in your browser's own storage. Signed out, that is the only copy, so clearing your browser removes it. Signed in, your browser also holds a sign-in token so you stay logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Technical records. Like almost every website, our hosting and database providers keep short-lived server logs. These include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, and they are used to keep the site running and secure. We do not run third-party analytics.
What other people can see
- Published mocks, lists and predictions, with your username and the date they were locked.
- Groups: members of a group see each other's usernames and the mocks posted to that group.
- Challenges: when you answer a friend's list challenge, that friend sees your answer and any name you typed.
- Crowd numbers ("11% of fans agreed") are counts across everyone. They never name who made which pick.
Drafts, unpublished boards and your email address are never shown to anyone.
How we use it
- To run the site: save your work, lock what you publish, and grade your predictions against what really happens.
- To work out crowd numbers and consensus rankings.
- To keep the site safe and stop abuse, such as spam answers to a challenge link.
- To email you about your account, such as a password reset. We only send other email if you ask for it.
Locked records, and deleting your account
The point of this site is a record nobody can quietly rewrite, including us. So once something is published, it cannot be edited or removed from the ledger. You can always publish a new version, and the old one stays with its date.
You can still leave. Email contact@mockdraftnation.com from the address on your account and, within 30 days, we will:
- delete your email address, password and sign-in;
- delete your drafts and anything you never published;
- take your username and display name off everything you published, so it stays only as an anonymous part of the crowd numbers.
We will tell you if a law requires us to keep something for longer.
Who helps us run the site
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Supabase runs our database and sign-in, in the United States.
- Some pages load team logos from ESPN's image servers and a code library from jsDelivr. When your browser fetches those files, those companies receive your IP address, as with any web request.
We share personal information with no one else, except where the law requires it. There are no payments on the site today. If that changes, this page will say who processes them before it happens.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it as described above. Email contact@mockdraftnation.com and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Children
Mock Draft Nation is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also email you if you have an account.
