The rules
The Nation is where draft calls get posted, argued and graded. These rules keep it worth reading. They are short on purpose.
The short version
- Talk football. Argue the call, not the person.
- No gambling: no odds, lines, picks for money or sportsbook links.
- Don't make things up about real people, and don't pretend to be one.
- Posts can't be edited, only deleted. A locked call stays locked either way.
- Three reports take a post out of For You until a person looks at it.
What belongs here
The draft, the players, the teams and the league: your takes, your locked calls, and arguments about everyone else's. Hot takes are welcome. So is being wrong in public, which is the whole point of a ledger.
What doesn't
- Going after people. Harassment, threats, bullying, or piling on someone for who they are. Disagree with the call as hard as you like.
- Hate, and sexual content. None of either, in posts, names or replies.
- Gambling. No odds, betting lines, picks sold or given for money, sportsbook links or promo codes. This site has no gambling and its feed doesn't either.
- Invented facts about real people. No made-up quotes, injuries, arrests or insider reports about players, coaches, reporters or anyone else. A take is yours; a fact needs to be true.
- Private information. Nobody's address, phone, family or anything they haven't made public, including a player's.
- Pretending to be someone. Not a player, a reporter, a team, or Mock Draft Nation.
- Spam. Ads, repeated posts, follow-for-follow, or links that exist to sell something.
- Other people's work. Don't paste articles, paywalled text, or video you don't have the rights to. Link to it instead.
- Anything illegal.
How posts work
- Members post. Posting, replying, quoting and reposting are for members. A free account reads everything, likes, follows and takes sides.
- No edits. A post can't change after people react to it. You can delete your own post at any time.
- Deleting a post never deletes the call. A call carried by a post is on your ledger, locked and dated, and it stays there.
- You choose what goes up. Nothing is posted for you. When you lock a call, share a mock or publish a list, the site asks whether to post it.
- Call them on it. Anyone can ask a post's author to lock a call on what they said. The author locks it or passes, and the answer stays on the post. Calling someone on it is for claims, not for following them around.
- Sides are for good. Taking a side on someone's call is dated and can't be changed, the same as the call.
- For You is explained. Every post there says why it is there, and the ranking is written down rather than guessed at.
Reports, and what happens next
Every post has Report in its menu. When three different fans report a post, it leaves For You until a person reviews it, and that person either takes it down or puts it back. Reports are private: the author never learns who made one.
Breaking a rule can mean a post taken down, posting switched off for a while, or an account closed, depending on how serious it is and whether it keeps happening. Threats and anything illegal can lose an account the first time. If you think we got one wrong, email contact@mockdraftnation.com with the link and we'll look again.
Blocking and muting
Block someone and neither of you sees the other anywhere, including replies, and any follows between you end. Mute someone and their posts leave your feed; they aren't told. Both are in every post's menu, and both are private.
Age
You must be at least 13 to have an account.
Copyright
If something posted here uses your work without permission, email contact@mockdraftnation.com with a link to the post, the work it copies, and how to reach you. We take down what shouldn't be here.
These rules sit alongside the Terms of Service, which say the same things in more words.
